About Us

I was well and truly addicted to the Gypsy Cob long before I ever had the opportunity to meet one face to face and I have been deeply involved with the breed here in Australia ever since. I was among the first to join and help with the establishment of the Gypsy Horse Association Australia (now under the umbrella of the APSB), and am currently an active member of the Australasian Gypsy Horse Society committee.

Horses are very much a part of our lives here at Pure Meadows and are considered a part of the family. They enjoy a fairly laid-back lifestyle, with plenty of room to grow, play and graze.

Breeding Objective

Breeding and training horses has always been a lifelong dream. We have spent years researching, gathering knowledge and searching for only the best horses with which to establish our breeding programs.

As breeders, upholding the quality and integrity of our chosen breeds is our number one priority and as such, our breeding objective is to produce only the best quality Gypsy Cobs, Drum Horses and part bred Gypsy ponies that are sound in both temperament and conformation, and are true to traditional type.

Training Methods

All our horses are selected for their exceptional temperaments, quality conformation and ability to perform and are trained using Natural Horsemanship methods. We believe all horses should have a very well rounded education and incorporate elements from many disciplines into our training.

Our horses begin their basic training at a young age, gifting them with a solid foundation of natural horsemanship and groundwork training which provides them with fundamental skills to set them up for success throughout their lives, no matter where their hooves may lead them.

The Farm

Our property is 68 acres of beautiful green hills, surrounded by tranquil pine forest and breathtaking 360 degree views, looking over the local town of Yarram, and all the way to Wilsons Promontory and the Ocean.

Our immediate surrounds provide us with the perfect location to train and work horses including some fantastic trail rides through the forests, quiet dirt roads for harness driving and only a short trip to 90 Mile Beach.
